MASTERS TO MINORS LEAGUE GETS HURLING SEASON UNDER WAY
The all weather pitch proved its value on Monday last when it hosted rounds one and two of the masters and minors hurling league: five well contested games, 12 minutes per half, no soloing, created plenty of excitement and was certainly a brilliant workout for the players who will represent the club in Intermediate, Junior B, U21 and Minor.
The results were as follows: Martin Hennessy 25, Mark Kelly 14, Sean Browne 11, Mike McMahon 14, Stephen Nix 13, Mike Martin 18, Martin Hennessy 16, Seán Browne 19, Stephen Nix 14, Olly McCoy 11. Next Monday's schedule is as follows: (though there may be a bit of tweaking to iron out some teething problems and make the league more player friendly) Round 3 Pitch 1 7p.m. Martin Hennessy v Mike McMahon. 7.30p.m. Mark Kelly v Sean Browne. Pitch 2 7p.m. Stephen Nix v Niall Enright. 7.30p.m. Mike Martin v Olly McCoy. Round 4: Pitch 1 8p.m. Martin Hennessy v Stephen Nix. 8.30p.m. Mark Kelly v Mike Martin. Pitch 2 8p.m. Sean Browne v Olly McCoy. 8.30p.m. Mike McMahon v Niall Enright.
