Effin manager Peter Finn admits that the better team won on the day.

The Limerick and Munster champions were surprisingly defeated by Armagh senior champions Middletown in the All-Ireland club IHC semi final last weekend.

In the end, the Ulster side had seven points to spare over the favourites and Finn acknowledges that Middletown thoroughly deserved their victory.

"We said coming up that if they were the better team and won that we would wish them the best of luck and we have no complaints, because there is no doubt that they were better than us on the day," Finn admitted to the Limerick Leader.

"I knew coming into this game that they had 10 Armagh senior championships won and have some right good hurlers." Tweet
