City GAA Board Notes

All is quiet in the City GAA circles at the moment, but the board is kept busy finalising the upcoming fixtures for the 2010 season. The board has announce the starting date for the 2010 competitions both in championships and leaguesthe the senior hurling will start on Friday 2nd April with Claughaun and Patrickswell meeting each other also on that evening Ballybrown and Na Piarsaigh will clash. In the opening game of the City senior football championship Monaleen will face Mungret on April 3rd Intermediate hurling will start on 1st of May with Kildimo and Ballybrown meeting at Mungret. Intermediate football championship will open with Na Piarsaigh and Milford meeting on 6of May. The junior A Football championship will have a late start when Monaleen and Milford will take place on 2nd Oct While the opening rounds of the Junior football B Championship will take place on August 2nd Minor football championship will open on Friday 2nd April with Monaleen facing Kilullta Gaels and St. Patrick's meeting Na Piarsaigh. The junior hurling championship will open on the 26th of June with Old Christians meeting Patrickswell Pallaskenry will face Ballybrown and St. Patrick's facing Crecora.The junior B Hurling championship will start the following day the 27th of June with Patrickswell facing Kilullta Gaels, Claughaun will meet Crecoraand Mungret will face Abbey Sarsfields. The first round of the under 21 hurling championship will start at early this season when Kilullta Gaels will take on St. Patrick's on April 20th In the city leagues the junior A hurling league with start on Tuesday 4th of May with Na Piarsaigh facing Ballybrown and Crecora facing Patrickswell. The junior B league will take place on April 4th when Patrickswell home to Claughaun and Monaleen home to Crecora.The junior A football league will open onn April 23rd when St. Patrick's travel to Cahirdavin to meet Na Piarsaigh and Mungret home to Milford. In the Junior B football league Pallaskenry are home to Claoghaun and Ballinacurra Gaels are home to Patrickswell on Friday 23rd of April. The next meetimg of the City GAA senior board will take place on this Monday 15th March at the Woodfield house hotel Ennis Road at 7.30pm. All at the City GAA board would like to wish Ardscoil Ris the very best in their second replay of this historic Harty Cup Final on this Thursday evening in Nenagh. This Ardscoil Ris side has players from City division clubs as in Alan Dempsey, Ciaran Keogh, Shane Dowling, Mark Ryan, Kevin Downes, Alan Breen and Kevin MaNamara from the Na Piarsaigh club and Eoghan McCarthy from Mungret and Patrickswell's Sean O Brien and Mark Carmody.
