Carr out for Limerick
March 02, 2010
Limerick defender Michael Carr has been ruled out of action for the next couple of weeks after sustaining a knee injury in last Saturday's NHL Division One defeat to Cork.
The Ahane clubman has been one of many new faces drafted into Justin McCarthy's squad as of late after numerous withdrawals from the Treaty panel due to the ongoing hurling crisis in the county.
Carr, who was making his county senior debut against the Rebels on Saturday night, had to be stretchered off after enduring a heavy knock to the knee in the first-half and is set to undergo a scan this week to find out the full extent of the injury.
"Michael will be out for the foreseeable future," Limerick county board secretary, Mike O'Riordan told the Irish Examiner.
"It was a bad knock he took to his knee. Our doctor Dave Boylan treated him at the time of the incident but he'll have to wait for the scan later in the week."
