Junior-B Hurling
The Junior-B Hurlers enjoyed their first week as Co. Champions as both players and spectators replayed in conversation details of the last-minute goal from the camán of Mark O'Sullivan, which earned us the James Corbett Memorial Cup. The Cup was welcomed by pupils at St. Anne's N.S. and St. Joseph's N.S. and was also taken to visit some senior citizens who were unable to attend the all-important game. The panel of players had a well-deserved break last week. Training resumes again this week as the lads prepare for the Munster competition, which will begin for shortly in Raheenagh.
58th Annual Christmas Draw:
This year we again have 50 prizes on offer for our 58th Annual Christmas Draw. The tickets are again priced at 2 each with a book of three tickets for 5. The draw will take place at the Rathkeale Community Centre on Thurs. 17th Dec. This annual draw continues to be a vital source of income for the club and we appeal to all members, players and friends to support the draw and enjoy a little flutter. The funds raised last year helped us to finance many expenses of the club during the year; both on and off the field and the financial boost of the income generated from the Christmas draw is needed this year as much as ever. We thank the Draw Co-ordinators, the three Mary's: Mary Liston, Mary Frawley and Mary Sheahan who have already given up much of their time and energy working on this event, and who will no doubt be extremely busy right up to the 17th ensuring that everything is in order. Tickets can be purchased from any member or player of the club and we look forward as always to a successful draw and many happy winners on 17th Dec.
Under 12 Team Photos taken in Gaelic Grounds
Following on from our recently very successful Dawn Milk/Golden Vale under 12 hurling and football finals days, we have received correspondence from "the Limerick Independent" and the photographer Keith Wiseman informing us that Team photos may be purchased of the under 12 teams that played in the Gaelic Grounds on those historic days. Parents who wish to order a copy of a team photo may order them through the Club. The charge per photographs is 15 for an 8" X 10" print and the fee must be sent with the order. Please contact Tom Keating immediately if you wish to order one of these photos.
Scor na nOg
The West Finals of Scor na nOg took place in Ardagh on Sunday 22nd November. This year we broke with tradition and did not have any entries in this most enjoyable event as it clashed with the Rathkeale Community Games Area Talent Competition.
Limerick County GAA Yearbook
The 2009 Limerick GAA Year Book is with the printers and will be launched in Mark Foleys Bar, in Ballyagran on Thursday, December 3rd, at 8.30p.m. The official launch of the book will be performed by John Galvin, (Junior) and Mark Foley. All are welcome to attend.
