It's 15 against 15 - O'Sullivan
July 03, 2009
Limerick football manager Mickey Ned O'Sullivan believes his side are in with every chance of upsetting red hot favourites Cork in this Sunday's Munster SFC final at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.
The Kerry native explained at a media gathering in Limerick earlier this week that a provincial final place was the early objective for his players once the draws had been made, and now he wants his side to go one step further to try and shock the Rebels.
"This is something we set out to get to," said O'Sullivan.
"When we met the first night, we said look the draw favours us - we needed to get all our ducks in a row and play well. We knew Tipp would tough and then we had Clare and it is great to have got over those two hurdles and now we are there and it is 15 against 15.
"Everyone thinks Cork are a certainty for the All-Ireland - yes they are a Division One team and we are a Division Four team, but I think in a final it's 15 against 15 and we have prepared well and we are looking forward to the challenge."
As they hype begins to generate between both counties for this weekend's showdown, O'Sullivan has stressed that his team must remain focused.
"The build up won't mean anything for us - that is for the media and the supporters.
"We have to focus on one thing - what happens between 2.00 and 3.30 on Sunday," the Treaty boss added.
