Tobin opts out of Limerick fold

Limerick's Pat Tobin
Pat Tobin has quit the Limerick hurling squad ahead of Saturday week's All-Ireland qualifier against Wexford in Wexford Park.
The Murroe-Boher clubman had opted out in the wake of last Saturday week's Munster SHC semi-final replay exit at the hands of Waterford. Tobin failed to see action in that game and news of his departure comes as a blow to manager Justin McCarthy who will be attempting to revive Limerick's season in the qualifiers.
Tobin was something of a 'super-sub' when the Shannonsiders reached the All-Ireland final two years ago, having chipped in with some crucial scores after coming off the bench.
