Limerick's Seanie Buckley
Limerick captain Sean Buckley is taking encouragement from Dromcollogher-Broadford's sensational victory over Nemo Rangers last November ahead of Sunday's Munster SFC final against Cork.
Buckley was a member of the Drom-Broadford team that caused a major upset at the Gaelic Grounds en route to an historic Munster club football championship success, and is hoping the county side can repeat the trick on Sunday.
"You look back on that day and it helps to give you confidence," he said.
"Nemo were hot favourites that day and we were not expected to beat them. They probably didn't expect us to stay as close as we did. That experience might stand to a few of us.
"Cork are strong favourites, but I don't think any of the talk beforehand or afterwards matters. It's what happens on the field for 70 minutes that counts. You look at last year when we should have beaten them.
"But that's no good heading into Sunday, we need to repeat that display."
The Ennistymon-based garda feels Limerick will need to match Cork's power and athleticism if they are to cause a shock.
"Their power and pace is unbelievable, and they've great fitness levels. We'll have to look at that and try to match that. They're very physical and have serious pace so that's the perfect formula.
"The win over Kerry was one of the best performances I've seen in recent years," he added.
