Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Notes by: Gareth Meaney For Wednesday and Thursday 17th and 18th of June 2009 Results: West Junior A Hurling Championship Group 1 Round 1 MCCARTHYS POINT GIVES BOTH DROMCOLLOGHER/ BROADFORD AND FEENAGH/ KILMEEDY A POINT Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-13 Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 1-13 This was a very tight game played down in Quaid Park, on Sunday afternoon last, in very good conditions. Tom McLoughlin for Dromcollogher/ Broadford had a great game scoring 1-4 all from play during the game, and six points from Jason Ryan and the other points coming from Derry McCarthy. Well done to Our Junior A Hurlers management Team leady by Patch McCarthy and to Junior A Hurlers lead by Captain Michael Boyce and the best of luck against Kilmallock, on Thursday June 25th, in Ballyagran, at 7.30pm, in the County League Junior A Hurling League Semi-Final. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy raced into the lead with a point inside the first thirty second of the game and then Jason Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford replied with a pointed free. Jason Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another pointed free to give them the lead for first time in the game and then Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with a pointed free, the sides were level again with seven minutes gone in the game. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point and then Tom McLoughlin of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first goal of the game to give us a four point lead. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with two points, to leave two points between the sides and then Tom McLoughlin of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point to give back a three points lead. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with a point, to leave two points between the sides 20 minutes gone in the game. Jason Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point from play and then Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with two more points both coming from frees, to leave a point between the sides. Jason Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another pointed free, to put three between the sides and then Feenagh/ Kilmeedy pointed another free just before half-time. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-6 to Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 0-8. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy started the second half as they started the first half, with another point inside the first thirty seconds to bring the game back to level terms again. Tom McLoughlin of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point, to give us the lead again and then Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point, to give us a two point lead. Tom McLoughlin of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point, to put three points between the sides with 6 minutes gone in the second half. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy were awarded a penalty and they scored a goal from the penalty to bring sides back to level terms again. Feenagh/ Kilmeedy took the lead with a point from a free, with 13 minutes gone in the second half. Jason Ryan scored the next two points for Dromcollogher/ Broadford one from play and the other from a free and then Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with a point from play to bring the sides back to level terms with 22 minutes gone in the second half. Jason Ryan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another point from play, to give us back the lead and then Feenagh/ Kilmeedy replied with two points to them back the lead with 28 minutes gone in the second half. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford pointed another free his second free of the day, to bring sides back on level terms again.
