Carey steps down

January 21, 2009
Ciaran Carey has stepped down as manager of the Limerick U21 hurlers. The Patrickswell clubman and former Treaty County great has informed Limerick officials that he is quitting after just one year at the helm. The former All Star and all-round Limerick GAA legend found that he could no longer give the role his full attention due to work commitments. Thus, he pulled out with just months to go before the U21 championship gets underway. However, Carey has confirmed that he may consider a return when circumstances are more favourable: "I was delighted with last year and wouldn't rule out something down the line."
