All players were delighted to be presented with the jerseys they wore on their respective County Teams and a CD of photographs taken during the year of the various teams. All competitions deal with themes of Ireland, Irish customs or Irish authors. 57th Annual Christmas Draw: With Christmas approaching fast we are reminded of annual events and traditions that go together automatically. Turkey and Pudding, raffle tickets and prizes are all part of the run-up to the Christmas season. Our club has just launched the 57th annual draw, which has been around for longer than most of our members, and with 50 prizes on offer, it provides us with many chances to win. This year, the tickets are again priced at ?2 each with a book of three tickets for ?5. The draw will take place as usual at the Rathkeale Community Centre on Thurs. 18th Dec. just a week before Christmas. This annual draw continues to be a vital source of income for the club and we appeal to all members, players and friends to support the draw and enjoy a little flutter. The funds raised last year helped us to finance many expenses of the club during the year. Many thanks to the Draw Co-ordinators, the three Mary's: Mary Liston, Mary Frawley and Mary Sheahan who have already given up much of their time and energy working on this event, and who will no doubt be extremely busy right up to the 18th ensuring that everything is in order. Tickets can be purchased from any member or player of the club and we look forward as always to a successful draw and many happy winners on 18th Dec. Annual General meeting The annual General meeting of the club will take place in Rathkeale House Hotel on Friday 5th December at 7.30pm. All members, intending members and supporters are more than welcome to attend. St. Mary's/Sean Finn's Club has had a very busy year once again with teams participating in both hurling and football from U8's to Junior and all the levels in between. We are lucky to have in our midst many volunteers who give of their time and energy week-in-week-out to work in various ways to help out in both our Bord na nOg and our Senior Club. At this time of the year, as we finalise the events of the year and look forward to the new year ahead, it is timely to seek new personnel who could get involved and help out in our club. There are a great range of duties, which need attending to, and a great range of skills available in our community, which would complement and improve those of our fellow club officers. Our club continues to grow in membership and the bank of skills out there is waiting to be tapped. If you could give even one hour each week to the club, that hour can be put to good use for the benefit of all members. Please consider putting your name forward for one of the many and varied positions. Adult members have received nomination sheets and we welcome all existing members along with intending members who are considering volunteering their time and knowledge, to accept a nomination for a position that would suit them. Sympathy: All in the club extend their deepest sympathy to the Stackpoole family on the recent death of Bridie Stackpoole. This gentlewoman will be sadly missed by Michael, Eamonn, Jim and Mary along with her grandchildren, sister and extended family. May she rest in peace.
