U12 FOOTBALLERS QUALIFY FOR COUNTY FINAL
COUNTY U12 FOOTBALL DIVISION 3 SEMI FINAL
PALLASKENRY 2-12 FR. CASEYS 1-05.
This was a very enjoyable game to watch with both sets of players playing their part in an action packed competitive County Semi Final in Rathkeale last Wednesday. From the start Pallaskenry meant business with a determined game plan pushing forward at every opportunity and kicking some lovely points from all angles. In goals Eoin Sheehan made some great saves to keep the Abbeyfeale lads at bay and at the other end Darren O'Connell jinked his way through the defence before lobbing the ball over the keepers' head to put us on our way. Jason Barry and Cian Moloney continued to keep our defensive unit strong and keep the forwards out as they had done right throughout the City Championship campaign. In midfield Ross Mann and Gary Maher both ran their hearts out as they gave everything for the cause with Ross getting forward and scoring 1-5 to add to his impressive tally for the year. Richard Downes was also causes problems for the Fr. Casey's defence at full forward and hit a wonderful point to keep the scores coming.
We went in at half time well ahead but Fr. Casey's fought back in the second half to play some good football but with players like wing back David Clarke not giving an inch and Ryan Kelly a constant threat their was only going to be one winner. Darren O'Connell continued his fine scoring and ended the game with a personal tally of 1-6 but it was his all round play and brilliant off the ball running that really caught the eye. James Fitz put in another strong performance at corner back with Carl Healy at corner forward also doing well along with the subs who all played their part. Now it's onto a County Final for the second year in succession following last years' success at U11. Our opponents this around will be near neighbours Crecora who we know well from this years' City Championship. Well done to the management team and thanks to all those who came along to support.
Team: Eoin Sheehan, Harley Moloney, Cian Moloney, James Fitzgerald, David Clarke, Jason Barry, Sean Holland, Gary Maher, Ross Mann (1-5), Darren O'Connell (1-6), Ronan Howlin, Ryan Kelly, Christopher Leahy, Richard Downes (0-1), Carl Healy. Cameron Fu-Lynch, Evin Kelly, Martin Neville, Odhran Cuddihy.

CITY JUNIOR B FOOTBALL C'SHIP
PALLASKENRY 3-21 MILFORD 1-08.
Our Junior footballers finally got their season going last Thursday and showed no signs of rustiness as they easily saw of the challenge of a gallant Milford side with a thorough performance. We had to overcome the lack of a recognised goalkeeper, but with a solid defence and hardworking midfield we needn't have worried. Right from the off our players showed superior skill & pace and forced Milford to foul from which Ian Gibbs was bang on target with two early efforts to settle any nerves. Teamwork was to the fore early on with a wide spread of scores as Kevin Gallagher, Adrian Garvey, Shane Hayes & Mikey Dillon all added points before John O'Dowd was on hand to finish to the net after good work from Hayes. Gibbs pointed once more following good interchange play as we led by 1-9 to no score after twenty minutes. Milford finally got off the mark two minutes later with a free and quickly added a second before Shane Loftus restored natural order along with a wonderful goal from Gibbs to give us a comfortable lead at half time.
The management made a number of positional changes for the second half to freshen things up and we started the second as we finished the first with Kevin Gallagher on the end of some good play to score our third goal. Ken Ward, now playing in the forwards, hit two points to cancel out two Milford frees before Milford were given a lifeline with a penalty which was duly despatched to the net. But Ken Ward answered back with three further points as we looked to close out the game. Milford did get a second penalty but this was saved by stand-in keeper Jeremy Staff as Ian Gibbs hit a brace of points to end with a personal tally of 1-09. Pallaskenry will be disappointment with the number of frees conceded and also two penalties but this was a good start to the campaign with Patrickswell the next opponents.
Team: Jeremy Staff, David Keating, Don Caulfield, Ken Ward (0-6), Mike Delap, Padraig O'Connell, Barry Walshe, Adrian Garvey (0-1), Shane Loftus (0-1), Shane Hayes (0-1), Jerome O'Connell, Mikey Dillon (0-1), John O'Dowd (1-0), Kevin Gallagher (1-2), Ian Gibbs (1-09, (0-4f)).
Referee: Tom Stack (St. Patricks).

CITY U13B FOOTBALL LEAGUE ROUND 1
PALLASKENRY 2-6 ST. PATRICKS 1-5.
Pallaskenry got off to a winning start in the U13 football league last Saturday when they played host to St. Patricks. This was a hard fought game with St. Pats never giving up but our lads made the better use of possession and showed more accuracy in front of goals. There were good displays from Eoin Sheehan in goals, who pulled off two wonderful saves, Andy Downes at full back, Cian Moloney, Ross Mann, Gary Maher, James Fitz & Richard Downes. Darren O'Connell was a constant thorn in the St. Pats side linking well with defence and taking his scores when the opportunity arose.
We were four points ahead at half time thanks to a goal from Richard Downes and good defending by Gregory Delap & Sean Holland. We opened up a good lead in the second half and when Gary Maher hit our second goal, after a wonderful turn and shot, we looked to be home and dry. But St. Pats came back at us and their constant pressure led to a goal but it was too little to late as we held on. All the lads did well and the management team can be proud of their start and hopefully push on from here with a trip to Ballybrown next up on Saturday September 13th.
Team: Eoin Sheehan, James Fitz, Andy Downes, Cian Moloney, Sean Holland, Rowin Howlin, Gregory Delap, David Holland, Ross Mann (0-2), Jason Barry, Darren O'Connell (0-3), Gary Maher (1-0), Tiernan Fitzgerald, Carl Healy, Richard Downes (1-0), Chris Leahy. Harley Moloney, Evan Maher, David Clarke, Cameron Fu-Lynch.
Referee Martin Doherty (St. Marys).
CITY U15 FOOTBALL LEAGUE ROUND 1
PALLASKENRY 0-3 PATRICKSWELL 0-8.
Pallaskenry kick started their U15 football league campaign last Monday but went down to a very strong Patrickswell side that pulled away in the second half to record a comfortable victory. Pallaskenry battled well at times and were well in contention up to half time but failed to take their chances in the second. The first half was close with only two points between the sides at half time as Patrickswell led on a scoreline of 0-5 to 0-3.
Colin Nash had a fine game in goals with Darragh Nunan & Kevin O'Connell keeping the forwards at bay. John Sheehan made some good runs at centre field, Eoin Cuddihy, Niall Maher & Johnny Nash played well scoring a point each but it was too little as Patrickswell added three points without reply in the second half.
Team: Colin Nash, Kevin O'Connell, Darragh Nunan, Paul Clarke, Micheal Keating, Ciaran O'Brien, Darragh Walshe, John Sheehan, Kealon Fitzgerald, Martin Nunan, Niall Maher (0-1), Eoin Cuddihy (0-1), Felim O'Leary, Conor Holland, Johnny Nash (0-1), Dean Corrigan, Karl Gath, David Kelly, Andy Downes.
