Bruff GAA notes

September 01, 2008
There was no jackpot winner for last weeks lotto so the draw for Thursday September 4th is worth 1,500 Euro. The winning numbers were 8,14,20 & 29. Lucky dip winners were Mary Enright, Tom Meaney, Maurice Daly, Brian Foley and Fiona Hogan, promoters prize went to Ger Browne. Congratulations to Martin Treacy who won 150 Euro in last months Limerick Development draw. Our Minor footballers had a great win ( 1-10 to 0-07 ) last Friday against Glenacurrane in Bruff. This now means that they will play Hospital Herberstown in the South A Final. Our Junior hurlers were narrowly beaten by close rivals, Camogue Rovers in the replay of the South championship qualifiers. Bruff, similar to last weeks match, had a comfortable lead midway through the second half but two quick goals by Camogue was enough to give them the momentum to see out the match and therefore knock our Juniors out of this years competition. It was disappointing to loose in this manner as they had being improving with each game and were good enough to win this one but were very unlucky to concede two goals with time against them. All roads lead to Claughaun this Saturday September 6th as our Intermediate's take on Cappamore in the Quarter Final of the Championship at 3pm. This is a repeat of last years Q/F in which Bruff lost that day so we hope to reverse the outcome this year and progress into the semi final. The Intermediate's have had a very good year to date but form goes out the window when you get to this stage of the competition. It will be a tough game but the club wish the whole squad the best of luck and would encourage everyone to show their support by coming out on Saturday and cheering the lads on.
