Cumann an Chlocháin
August 26, 2008
This week saw mixed results for the club with firstly our footballers securing a good win in the Junior B championship by defeating Abbey Sarsfields.
On Sunday evening in the Junior B Hurling championship we lost a 9 point lead against Crecora to finish the game level 3-10 to 4-07. Unfortunately our Senior Footballers were defeated by Monaleen 1-09 to 0-06 in the Senior Championship. For the most part both teams were neck and neck but the final quarter saw us conceding a goal which began to turn the game. We now face Athea in the final decider and we call on all for your support in this vital fixture. On Wednesday last in the Minor Football championship we were defeated by Killulta Gaels 3-10 to 0-12.
Congratulations to Sinéad Madden who competed in the national finals of the community games in Mosney last weekend. Sinéad who plays hurling with the club represented limerick in the Under 12 4 x100m relay and over two days beat off all competition to secure the gold medal on Sunday afternoon. Well done to Sinéad and continued success. Our annual Dog night takes place Saturday September 13th and we ask on all members to support this vital fundraiser.
