Limerick to begin manager search in earnest
August 22, 2008
The Limerick County Board have arranged a special meeting for Tuesday next, August 26th when the process of selecting a hurling manager will begin.
At the meeting the nominations for the position will be announced and then the county board will set about interviewing each interested candidate.
This will be the county's sixth manager in ten years following Richie Bennis' decision not to go through the selection process again, having heard of how the county board were asking nominations to be put forward through the local radio, although Bennis has stated that he would like to stay.
Some of the names already being touted have been former manager Tom Ryan and current intermediate boss Gerry Molyneux, while the likes of Ciaran Carey, Tony Considine and Pat Herbert have also been mentioned.
