UNDER 21 HURLERS: The U-21 hurlers suffered defeat against Mungret in the County Championship. Mungret scored a very early goal and never relinquished that lead. Patrickswell edged back into the match with two consecutive points before our opponents replied in kind. After fifteen minutes, Patrickswell were 1-2 to 0-2 in arrears.
The remainder of the first half was finely balanced as both teams scored three additional points. At the interval, Mungret held a 1-5 to 0-5 lead. Patrickswell needed a strong start to the second half; however it was Mungret that delivered it. They plundered four consecutive points to establish a seven-point cushion at 1-9 to 0-5. The 'Well were not able to produce an emphatic comeback and lost out by 1-13 to 0-9.
The next match is against Kilmallock on Tuesday February 27 at 8pm in Rathkeale.
