Canning, Seamus

June 02, 2006
The late Seamus Canning The Mohill area was saddened by the death of Seamus Canning. Seamus was Vice-chairman of the Club during the 80s and 90s, during which time he togged out for our over 30s team while his popular hostelry on Main Street "The Faul Inn" was a haunt and meeting place for club members, a place where we celebrated our victories and held our numerous "post mortems." Seamus played underage football with Bornacoola and won a minor championship medal with Gortletteragh in 1964 before continuing his playing career for a while in England, while his son Mark had played in all grade for Mohill. To his wife Cathy, son Mark, daughter Lisa and all family members, we extend our deepest sympathy. Our condolences also go to the Rowley and Heaney families on their recent bereavements.
