The Late Sandra McDermott The passing of 28 year old Mohill woman Sandra McDermott was met with great sadness of her native Mohill. Sandra, daughter of Dermot and Mary, sister of Martin, Paul, Lorna, Lorraine and Deirdre and partner of Paul died in Sligo General Hospital from an illness she had borne for sometime. Her death has brought profound sadness to Mohill where her family are steeped in voluntary community work as well as the local GAA and various choirs. Sandra from Boeshill where she lived all her life, was well known in the south Leitrim area and worked in a shop in Carrick-on- Shannon. Her brothers Paul and Martin both play for Mohill and Paul also playes for Leitrim, while her three-sisters were all on the Leitrim Ladies team that contested this year's Connacht Junior Final as well as the County Division 1 League Final. Her twin sisters, Lorna and Lorraine are members of the Millennium Choir and the Rynn Singers and a large choral gatherings will be present to sing at her funeral Mass. A vote of sympathy was proposed the meeting of Leitrim County Council by Cllr Enda Stenson, Cllrs Gerry McGee, Thomas Mulligan and Damien Brennan wished to be associated with the proposal.
