Leitrim ladies football manager Niall Kilcrann is looking forward to the National League Division 3 final against Westmeath in Parnell next Saturday, May 12.

The Ridge County booked their place in the decider with a 1-11 to 0-7 victory over Down last weekend, and will now aim to repeat their earlier victory over Westmeath, who are the reigning All-Ireland intermediate champions.

"We beat them earlier this year but that does not mean much right now. This is where the girls deserve to be and now the work begins for next Saturday week," Kilcrann explained to the Leitrim Observer after the win over the Mourne County.

"At half-time, we spoke in the dressing-room about the importance of the opening minutes of the second half and Down came out all guns blazing. It wasn't until we introduced a few subs to the game that it freshened us up and we really got going and pulled away." Tweet
