Glancy: Fade out cost us

March 05, 2010
Leitrim hurling boss Kevin Glancy has put his team's 1-17 to 0-14 defeat to Fermanagh last Sunday at Enniskillen down to a fade out from his team in the closing stages.

The visitors had started the game in a positive manner and were level with their opponents at half-time, but in the third quarter the Erne men pulled away for condemn Glancy's team to a second consecutive defeat in Division Four.

"We had a very good start but faded out badly in the last 15 minutes. That was our downfall today," said Glancy.

"We were missing six from the panel that turned out against Cavan," he added. "That was significant. When legs started to get tired those six were missed at that stage. For various reasons outside our control they just were not available on the day and that was just unfortunate for us."

Not one to dwell on defeat, Glancy is now concentrating on his team's next outing in the NHL at home to South Down on Sunday week.

"We have two weeks now to really knuckle down and get ready for the South Down game in Carrick-on-Shannon. That's what we will be gearing all our work for over the next two weeks," he said.
