Leitrim picked up their first win the National Football League Division Four this season yesterday at Carrick-on-Shannon, where they totally dismantled a disappointing Kilkenny outfit.

The hosts were well on their way towards this comfortable victory when corner-forward Declan Gilhooly blasted in their first goal after just seven minutes. James Glancy and the returning Emlyn Mulligan also chipped in with points to widen the gap, while Graham Lalor moved Kilkenny off the zero with his frees.

Back came Leitrim though with more singles and when Gilhooly fired in his second major the difference stood at 2-10 to 0-3 at half-time in their favour.

Within seconds of the restart Mickey Moran's men had totally killed off this one-sided affair, when Colin Regan broke through for a third goal which was backed up by four points without reply, with Mulligan leading the way.

Patrick Donnelly pulled back a goal for the visitors, but even that would be erased as Glancy raised his team's fourth in the 52nd minute to ensure a first win of the campaign for Leitrim.
