U14 FEILE - HURLING
The Feile this year was hosted by Laois/Offaly. Unfortunately we had to travel without 4 of our stronger hurlers but the boys who travelled put in a great effort all weekend. Our first game was against our host club St. Josephs of Laois after a very tiring 4 hour bus journey. The home team won 2.10 to 1.01. On Saturday the team were much fresher and were very unlucky not to beat St. Paul's (Laois). This game went right to the final whistle. The final score was Glencar/Manor 0.04 to St. Paul's 1.03. Our final game was against a strong team consisting of 4 clubs from London. The Glencar/Manor boys never gave up but lost 4.05 to 1.04. Thanks to all those who helped put the team together and make it possible for 22 hurlers from Manorhamilton to represent Leitrim at Feile. There were many people who contributed to the team but a special thanks to Benny Clancy who painted our wonderful banner, John McManus who sponsored the banner, Glencar Water and to Gerry Gilgunn, Linda Gilligan and Patrick Clancy who travelled with the team.
