Minor decider promises to be a cracker
October 03, 2008
The county minor final between Garadice Gaels and St Francis will act as the curtain raiser to this year's senior final and promises to be an enthralling encounter between two evenly matches outfits.
Garadice Gaels, an amalgamation of Drumreilly and Aughawillan, are the defending champions and may enter the game as slight favourites, but St Francis, another amalgamated side featuring Ballinaglera and Allen Gaels, finished on an equal amount of points in their group and had a better scoring difference over the seven matches played.
When the two sides met back in July the game ended all square on 0-10 apiece, giving every indication that this Sunday's encounter could well end in the same circumstances.
Throw-in for Sunday's first decider takes place at 1.15pm at Pairc Sean MacDiarmada in Carrick-on-Shannon.
