New role for McGill

September 24, 2008
The GAA has confirmed the appointment of Fergal McGill as its operations manager to work alongside director-general Paraic Duffy. He takes up the role after spending the last six years as information and publications officer for the Association. This position has been filled by former Westmeath PRO Pat Doherty, who joined the Croke Park staff after losing out to Tom Farrell in a contest for county board chairman last December. A member of the Bornacoola GAA club in South Leitrim, McGill will work directly with Duffy in the effective management of his responsibilities and will also have responsibility for player welfare matters.
