New Leitrim football boss Mickey Moran has named Martin McGowan as his locally-based selector. The Allen Gaels clubman will link up with the former Derry, Mayo and Sligo manager and his right-hand man John Morrison in the new management set-up. The new management met the players for the first time last Wednesday night to outline their plans for next season. Welcoming McGowan's appointment, Leitrim chairman Gerry McGovern said: "Martin has been working a long time with underage football in the county and the county junior team and he has a wealth of knowledge of footballers who are out there. "Martin is an excellent choice for the job and he is completely au-fait with the work of Mickey and John." Tweet
