GLENCAR/MANORHAMILTON CLUB NOTES MINOR CHAMPIONSHIP Our participation in the Minor Championship ended in the Bee Park on Friday evening last when St. Francis snatched a winning goal in the EIGHT minute of injury time. The game itself was a great battle between two very determined teams. The minors were guaranteed a place in the final in two weeks time. We went in at half time two points up despite St. Francis dominating a lot of the play. The second half was very exciting as both teams fought to gain supremacy. We gradually got on top and as the game reached its conclusion we were two points in front. However football can be a cruel game and the circumstances in relation to the winning goal will live long in the memories of the very large crowd who witnessed it. Our team has been training continuously since the beginning of January. They have represented the club with great honour throughout the year. Overall the 15aside Championship has been a terrific experience. We await a date for our League Final appearance with Sean O'Heslins. This Saturday the team travel to Dunboyne to take part in an U18 tournament. Final Score: Glencar/Manor 1-9, St. Francis 2-7. Team & Scorers v St. Francis: Shane Sweeney, John O'Brien, Sean McManus, Eugene McNulty, Jak Dallan, James O'Brien (0-2), Mark Fox, Aaron McDermott, Aaron Hickey (0-2), Kieran Brick, Declan Ryan (0-2), Patrick Loughlin (1-0), Ronan Flynn, Colin Gilligan, Evan Sweeney (0-3), Hugh Feely, Mark McGourty, Killian McGriskan, Cian McManus, Darragh McNulty, Caoimhin O'Connor. We extend best wishes to Garadice Gaels and St. Francis in the final. WEEKEND FIXTURES We await the result of Ballinamore's Appeal before we know when our Senior Semi-Final can be played. JUNIOR B CHAMPIONSHIP Well done to our Junior team who came from 06 points down in the first half to overcome the challenge from Fenagh in a wet Leitrim Village on Sunday. Very difficult conditions for football but in fairness to the team they kept going until the final whistle and we are now through to the Semi-Finals of the Junior B Championship. We await the results of games in the other group before we know who we will be meeting in this. LADIES Well done to our ladies team who beat Bornacoola on Sunday morning in the ladies Intermediate football Championship. Again it was a game played in very difficult weather conditions. Final Score: Glencar/Manor 1-11, Bornacoola 0-6.
