Mohill

Mohill overcame County Champions Aughawillan on Sunday last and booked their place in the Senior semi-final in two weeks time. The champions put up a brave fight but Mohill finished stronger and were worthy winners in the end. Aughawillan will rise again.

Under 15

This age group will start their championship on Saturday next when they play Annaduff in Mohill at 12.

Lotto Results

There was no jackpot winner last week, the numbers drawn were 6-19-20-29. Lucky Dip winners were:  €70 Catherine Charles Mohill, €40 Teresa McCrann Gortletteragh, €20 Olive O Shea Mohill. The Jackpot now is €9000.

New Baby

We congratulate Deirdre Honiball nee Mc Dermott and her partner Steve, in far-flung Australia, on the birth of their first baby - a little boy called Liam. Another grandchild for Mary and Dermott.

Recent Death

The club extend deepest sympathy to the Kelly family on the death of their beloved mother Maureen on Sunday last. Maureen and her husband Jack ran Kelly’s Hotel Mohill for many years until their son John took charge in the 60s. Kelly’s Hotel and the Kelly family have been an intrinsic part of Leitrim and Mohill GAA since it’s foundation in 1889. County Board meetings were always held there and the record shows the first Hurling Co Board was founded there in 1904. Maureen and her family have always been generous supporters and her son Ciaran and grandson Johnny have played for Mohill   May her gentle soul rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí
