Leitrim have been promoted from Division 4 of the Allianz Football League with three rounds to spare after making it five wins from five at London's expense in Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.

Terry Hyland's men can also looking forward to a Division 4 final appearance at Croke Park against Derry at the end of the month after Shane Quinn's 23rd minute goal set them up for a victory which would have been far more comfortable had they translated their possession into scores.

London started the better with Conor Doran and Liam Gavaghan notching early scores, but the hosts finally settled after Pierce Dolan set Quinn up for their opening score and the game's only goal.

Ryan O’Rourke (two) and Gary Plunkett tagged on points to leave them 1-4 to 0-4 up at the break.

Leitrim continued to waste chances after the restart, but points from Domhnaill Flynn and Aidan Flynn kept them in the driving seat before Gavaghan ended a 22-minute scoring lull for the Exiles.

It wasn't until Gary Plunkett and Ray Mulvey landed late points that the home crowd could finally celebrate.
