Carlow let it slip

May 20, 2007
Laois 4-10 Carlow 3-11 Having lead by nine points at half time, Carlow looked set for another win in the Leinster MHC, however a remarkable comeback by Laois ensured a victory for the visitors at Dr Cullen Park on Saturday, May 19th. Carlow completely dominated proceedings in the first half and were deserved leaders at the interval with Paul Kehoe scoring 2-6 for the home side. However, a six minute spell just after the break brought Laois back into the match after Dwayne Peacock scrambled the ball into the Carlow net. Substitute David O'Mahoney proved to be the hero for Laois as he fired home their fourth goal with time almost up to give them a remarkable victory and gain some degree of revenge for last year's meeting between the sides. SCORERS - Laois: A Collier 1-4 (1-3 fs), T Delaney, D Peacock, D O'Mahoney 1-0 each, J O'Loughlan 0-2, D Dooley, N Foyle, T Burke ('65), J Gaughan 0-1 each.
