Martin plays up underdogs tag

September 23, 2015

Clough-Ballacolla manager Kevin Martin is adamant that his side are underdogs for Sunday's County SHC final.

Camross stand in the way of their four title in eight years as the sides prepare to meet in the decider for the first time ever.

Camross have come out on top in their last three championship meetings, but Clough-Ballacolla did come out on top when the sides met in this year's county SHC final.

Nonetheless, Martin who is in his first year in charge of Clough-Ballacolla admits that Camross are still favourites.

"They beat us in the first round, they have beaten us in the last three years so we go in as underdogs really, which is proper order, so we're hoping we can get up to the pace of it, but you never know," Martin told the Leinster Express.

He added: "If the lads can get the work rate up and match them, Camross are very good at their work rate, they have great intensity and great heart, so if we can match that we have every chance."
