Unique pairing in SHC decider

September 23, 2015

Despite being two of the top teams in the county, Clough-Ballacolla and Camross will meet in the county SHC final for the first time ever on Sunday.

Both sides have lifted the title in the recent years, but they have avoided each other at the final stage up until now.

However, they have met on two occasions this year already with the honours even so far. Camross won the championship meeting between the sides, while Clough-Ballacolla came out on top in the league final.

There is very little between the sides on any give day and Sunday's encounter is expected to be know different.

Camross are unbeaten in this year's campaign so far and they are slight favourites to lift the title for the 25th time, while Clough-Ballacolla are seeking a third in seven years.

Sunday's final throws in at 3pm and it will be preceded by the meeting of Portlaoise and Clonaslee St Manman's in the senior A hurling final.
