O Flatharta expecting Model backlash

Tomas O Flatharta doesn't subscribe to the theory that the odds are stacked against Wexford ahead of tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC qualifier.

Aidan O'Brien and his Model County players have been given just a week to lick their wounds following their Leinster SFC semi-final hammering at the hands of Dublin but O Flatharta believes the quick turnaround is a blessing in disguise for Wexford.

The O'Moore County will travel to Wexford Park and the Kerry native told the Irish Independent: "Wexford have a lot of experience in the team and a lot of young lads too so there is a good blend there.

"Looking at them against Dublin last Sunday, I thought they did put up a good performance in the first half when there was only four points in it.

"They have a win behind them as well. They beat Longford in the Leinster championship so, after -playing Dublin last weekend, it's great for them I suppose to have a game so quickly so they can regroup which they probably will do."
