Hosts Portlaoise saw off the stubborn challenge of underdogs Emmet Og, Killoe yesterday to reach a third Leinster Club SFC final in nine years.

The home side raced into a 0-3 to 0-0 lead after 16 minute with Paul Cahillane, Barry Fitzgerald and Brian Glynn finding the target but Killoe netted through Denis McGoldrick a minute later from their first meaningful attack.

Mick Lillis' charges led by the bare minimum at the break and they found themselves a point in arrears after four minutes of the second half when Mark Hughes and Sean McCormack raised white flags for Killoe.

Portlaoise responded with a Brian Smith goal but that effort was cancelled out when Simon Kiernan netted Emmet Og's second goal.

Portlaoise upped the ante in the final quarter when sending over five points to book a final ticket against Ballymun Kickhams.
