Laois hurler John Brophy has returned to the fold having spent some time in Australia.
The Harps' hurler has been working away with the rest of the squad over the past few weeks as Laois prepare for their first competitive match this weekend.
They face DIT in the Walsh Cup at Rathdowney on Saturday afternoon and new manager Teddy McCarthy will be hoping to make a winning start to the campaign.
The Cork man has stated that they will field a strong team this weekend, having experimented in their last three challenge matches.
"The last three games against CIT, UCC and Waterford, we used them to experiment, but as much as we can we will field our strongest team this weekend. We want to win every game we play," McCarthy explained to the Leinster Express.
"We only got going on January 3rd, so our fitness levels leave a lot to be desired at the moment. We'll have to combine fitness work with matches, which is not ideal, but we'll just have to play the cards we're dealt."
