The Laois senior hurling championship has been revamped for the 2012 campaign.

Following a meeting of the county board, changes were also made to division 1 of the hurling league, which were both ratified and will be implied this year.

The league takes on a whole new meaning as placings in division 1 will have a major bearing on the championship as the ten teams competing in the top flight of the league could reach the SHC quarterfinals, if they reach the league semi finals.

Depending on where teams finish in the league will see where they are placed in the championship, which looks set to make both competitions more competitive. Tweet
