Interesting clashes in store

August 13, 2010
The second round of the Laois senior football championship has thrown up some intriguing ties as both winners and losers' group get underway.

The pick of the round in the winners' group sees Arles-Killeen and Arles-Kilcruise go head-to-head in a repeat of last year's semi final when they latter came out on top.

County champions Portlaoise play Crettyard in the first of the games next Tuesday, while St Joseph's and Stradbally meet for the third time this year.

The last game in the winners' group sees Graiguecullen take on Clonaslee-St Manman's. In the losers' section Portarlington take on Emo in what is the big game in this group.

The other three games see neighbours The Heath play Ballyroan-Abbey, Mountmellick meet O'Dempsey's and Ballylinan face The Rock.
