It could be another two weeks before new Laois senior football and hurling managers are in place.
O'Moore County officials have yet to begin the process of interviewing potential successors to Sean Dempsey and Niall Rigney after the deadline for nominations closed last Friday.
"We haven't moved on anything," Laois chairman Brian Allen told the Leinster Express.
"We're trying to finalise a list of people who are interested and then we're going to try and meet those who are. It depends on availability as to when the interviews will take place but it'll be towards the end of next week at the very earliest before we'll be able to have someone in place.
"We are still hoping to have someone in place to be ratified for the August county board meeting but if necessary we can call a special meeting. We'd like the new managers to be in place to see as much of the local championships as possible but we want to try and get the right people, with the right management teams in place, and if that takes a little big longer then that's what we have to do."
Kerry legends Mick O'Dwyer and Darragh O Se were both sounded out regarding the football manager's job, but officials were knocked back by both.
