Champs search for manager
July 30, 2010
Clough-Ballacolla's defence of the county SHC title has suffered a setback as they must search for a new manager in mid season.
Following last Sunday's draw against Camross, the defending champions' manager Barney Naughnane surprisingly stepped down from his position.
The Tipperary native admitted that a difference of opinion within the club lead to his resignation and now they must set about finding a suitable replacement.
"I was asked to train Clough-Ballacolla and after one session I was asked to stay on as coach, but after a few weeks there was a difference of opinion. In the time that I was there we played four league games and won them all, but after the weekend I decided to withdraw my services," said Naughnane.
"I would like to wish the players the best of luck though; they gave me huge commitment while I was there."
