Mick O'Dwyer
Mick O'Dwyer has refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with a sensational return to the Laois football manager's post.
The 74-year-old has been nominated for the vacancy in Laois, four years after he ended a successful four-year term in charge of the O'Moore County, during which they reached three Leinster finals, winning one in 2003, and a National League decider.
Meanwhile, Wicklow remain the background, hoping that he will continue with them for a fifth season.
"It will be the next couple of weeks before there is any news on it. There is no news on it at this present time," Wicklow county board spokesman Pat Mitchell said.
O'Dwyer has switched off from all the speculation and will be making no decision on his future in the short term.
"I'm relaxing and enjoying the summer," he said.
"I wish Wicklow were still involved in the championship but they're not, so I'm sitting back and watching the games like everybody else. I said after we lost to Cavan that I'd be making no decision on my future for a while and that's still the way it is."
