Injuries pile-up for O'Moore hurlers
June 26, 2009
Laois manager Niall Rigney will be keeping two fingers crossed that he will have most of player back fit for his side's meeting with Antrim in the All-Ireland SHC qualifiers.
James Young (cruciate), Tommy Fitzgerald (groin) and John Brophy (hand) are all doubts for the clash with the Saffrons at O'Moore Park in just over a week's time, with Fitzgerald the most likely to miss out.
"Tommy is going to need surgery, whether he plays through the pain barrier remains to be seen. Knowing Tommy, I'd say he'd be willing to do it," said Rigney.
There is good news, however, for John A Delaney and Matthew Whelan, who looked to have both recovered from the knocks received during the Galway defeat.
