Leinster MHC: Wexford on Wednesday
June 19, 2009
Laois meet Wexford in their Leinster minor hurling championship semi-final at O'Moore Park on Wednesday June 24 (7.30).
Manager Tony Ryan is hoping that captain Darren Houlihan will be cleared to play after picking up a suspension. Houlihan 'missed' the victory over Dublin through injury but was reported for interfering with Dubs No.14 Naomhan Reardan while acting as waterboy. Laois have appealed the eight-week ban.
Philip O'Connell, David Freeman and Daragh Cussen have joined the squad, while Eoghan Whelan is expected to have recovered from a knee injury in time to face the Model boys.
"You'd like to be picking from a full deck," says the manager. "You'd hate to look back after the game and think what could have happened if we had everyone."
