Courtwood club notes

June 04, 2009
Courtwood's junior footballers made it four wins in a row in ACFL Division 4 recently when they completed their campaign with a hard fought 0-11 to 1-6 win over The Heath. Against a slight wind in the first half, Courtwood played well at times and did enough to lead 0-5 to 0-4 at the interval. And after a fine third quarter display they looked "home and hosed" having opened up a 0-9 to 0-4 lead, with scores from Eamonn O'Connell and Damien Behan. But the hosts battled back and found the net late on to level affairs only for Courtwood to dig deep with scores from James Doyle and Tommy Dunne securing the points. Team; PJ Kelly, Robert Wilson, Declan Wilson, Liam Duffy, John Boland, Enda Luttrell, Barry Donnelly, Tom O'Connell, James Doyle (0-3), Shane Donoher (0-2), Michael O'Connell, Paul Duffy (0-1), Damien Behan (0-1), Eamonn O'Connell (0-3), Tommy Dunne (0-1).
