British ladies GAA AGM

The AGM took place over the weekend and began with the President's speech. Jackie welcomed everyone to the AGM, thanked all the officers for their hard work over the years and made a special reference to Stiofan Hunter and Tony McDevitt both out going members of the council. She thanked them for their time and input and wished them all in the future.
Jackie congratulated all the teams who entered into various competitions in the previous year, and congratulated the winning Intermediate champions- Parnells and Junior champions- Fulham Irish, as well as the winners of the first shield competitions to be played, Holloway Gaels and KKG. She also welcomed new teams to the competitions, Wolfe Tones from Liverpool, Thomas McCurtains and St Anthony's from London, and wished them luck in the future.
Jackie concluded with sympathy and condolences to any teams and members who many have lost loved ones over the last year, making special reference to Mrs B Doyle who had recently passed away after a long illness. A donation to Cancer research is to be made on behalf of the Provincial board.
Joanne McDevitt provided the secretaries report of the year which included reference to agreements that were made at the previous AGM with regards to the running of the provincial competitions. She also made reference to the excellent football that was witnessed from many teams over the course of last year and gave congratulations to all teams and special congratulations to the winners of each competition. Joanne also took the opportunity to mention the continued hard work that is ongoing all over the province in all areas of development including the continued work at integration between of GAA disciplines.
The meeting then carried out with the election of officers (See below) before the discussion of the motions for the year. Of note it was agreed to continue to keep the championship in its current format to allow the continued development of teams. The provincial website is currently being made and will be released and available to view in April. This will be a combined website from all GAA games within the province.
