Kilkenny's postponement request granted

July 09, 2008
Kilkenny's request to postpone tonight's Leinster intermediate hurling final against Dublin at Nowlan Park has been granted by the Leinster Council. The provincial body agreed to the request as a number of the Kilkenny players are on the county's football panel which plays London in the Tommy Murphy Cup at Freshford on Saturday. Kilkenny defeated the Exiles in their first season back in the National Football League in April, and are hoping for a repeat result this weekend, with the winners earning a crack at last year's Connacht champions Sligo in the next round. The hurling final has been rescheduled for Saturday week, July 19 at the same venue.
