Kilkenny under-21 manager Eddie Brennan believes there is no reason for his charges to be over-confident ahead of their All-Ireland hurling semi-final against Derry at Semple Stadium.

The Cats are unbackable as they head into the semi against the Ulster champions, but Brennan stressed to the Kilkenny People that getting to the final is their main priority.

"It is only a possible ticket into the final - there is nothing definite," stated Brennan. "You have to go with it with all your might. We have to be very focussed. If we are not at 100% we will struggle, there is no doubt about that."

Brennan is in his second year in charge of the side and is hoping to guide them to their first All-Ireland final since 2012. The All-Ireland SHC winner knows better than most that his charges cannot afford to be complacent as in his first year, they suffered a shock defeat to Westmeath in the Leinster championship.

The winners of tomorrow's clash will face either Limerick or Galway in the final on September 9th.
