Kilkenny hurlers will depart for their end of year holiday on December 31st.

The entire squad and management will fly out to Thailand where they are due to spend ten days on the island of Phuket.

Having recently won the All-Ireland SHC title for the second consecutive year, Kilkenny will enjoy the well-earned break before returning home and preparing for yet another three-in-a-row.

However, before all that can take place there is still the matter of the county championships to be played with the SHC quarterfinals taking place this weekend.

Three of the last eight games will be played this weekend as Clara face Erin's Own; Fenians v. Ballyhale Shamrocks; Rower-Inistigoe v. Mullinavat.

The last quarterfinal will take place the following weekend as O'Loughlin Gaels await the winners of Danesfort v. Dicksboro.
