Kilkenny minor manager Pat Hoban has sent out a warning to all pretenders to the throne by stating that they 'fear no one.'

The Cats begin the defence of their Leinster title against Wexford at Innovative Wexford Park on Saturday afternoon.

Hoban admitted to the Kilkenny People that Wexford will provide them with a stern test, but he added that if his charges play to their potential then they should advance.

"We are optimistic," said Hoban. "If the lads play to their potential we should fear no one. A lot of them have won minor and colleges All-Irelands, and that experience should be a help.

"Wexford have been somewhat unlucky in recent years at this level. Having that Laois game under their belt is a big positive."
