Eoin Larkin hopes to return to the Kilkenny senior hurling squad in time for the championship.

The James Stephens ace is sitting out the league after undergoing groin surgery but is aiming for an early-summer return:

"I'm not too sure of a comeback time - maybe about five or six weeks," the seven-times All-Ireland winner notes in The Kilkenny People. "It could be longer, but I'm aiming for that timescale, all things going well.

"It's frustrating watching from the sidelines. It wouldn't be one of my strong points, sitting down to watch games, but I'll have to get on with it. I'll be there for the lads; it they want any advice, hopefully I'll be able to help.

"Retirements and injuries might have meant we started the year down a few from 2014, but there'll always be 15 lads out who are looking to do well.. We still have a very good panel there. We're hoping for good things this year."
