Man of the Match Padraig Walsh says Galway put it up to Kilkenny in today's NHL semi-final.

Right half back Walsh was immense as Brian Cody's charges qualified for a fourth successive league decider, coming from six points down to defeat the Tribesmen by 1-16 to 0-15 in a hard-fought semi-final at the Gaelic Grounds.

"It was a tough oul game and Galway are always hard to play against, like," Walsh said after the final whistle had sounded. "There was a tough, strong wind there.

"We came out in the second half and there was a bit more space so we're delighted today now."

Walsh scored two brilliant points after the restart and also made a stunning intervention to deny Galway midfielder Padraig Brehony a goal in the first half.

The only problem is that his famous older brother, Tommy - winner of seven All-Irelands - will be looking to get his No.5 jersey back!

"He'll be trying his best alright, I'd say," the younger Walsh quipped.
