Clara have now won an incredible 16 successive matches in all competitions.

Last year's Kilkenny intermediate hurling champions blazed a trail through Leinster to also win the provincial and All-Ireland intermediate club titles, capturing the latter crown at Croke Park in February.

After a particularly-short close season, they returned to the Kilkenny senior hurling league on Saturday and opened their campaign in style with a narrow 0-18 to 0-17 victory over O'Loughlin Gaels at Nowlan Park.

The amazing winning run went right down to the wire, however, as Keith Hogan didn't clip the winning free between the sticks until the 63rd-minute!
